4。75。 The ending and the epilogue really made this book read worthy。 It was an enjoyable read, really fast paced with interesting plots and twists。

Little did she know her life was about to change completely when a famous multi billionaire passes away and she is selected to inherit all his fortune! In order to to receive this fortune Avery has to move into the strangers mansion with his four smart successful and stunning grandsons, cast of snooty family members and staff。 The family, not so impressed with this choice of the will is determined to get rid of Avery, while Avery is determined to survive this scandal and find out, why her! During her quest she discovers that the house is riddled with well, riddles, which leads Avery and the grandsons on a hunt for answers!!! boring mystery, flat characters, kinda forced writing but it was a quick read!
Jessica,
Recommended to me by my agent, after we discussed our mutual love for Knives Out。 And of course she was right: I loved this fabulous combination of Knives Out and The Westing Game! A mystery, a weird will, rich people behaving badly, this book had everything! Not to mention just a hint of Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca happening! I do wish that two of the boys had been a bit more fleshed out as characters, I had trouble remembering which was which。 But that might have been because I was listening t Recommended to me by my agent, after we discussed our mutual love for Knives Out。 And of course she was right: I loved this fabulous combination of Knives Out and The Westing Game! Havana Encalada,
It was a well-plotted book and it was a great read。 I would have given the book five stars if not for the fact that when I was reading, it left a sour taste in my mouth。 I don't know why, but it just seemed that way while I was reading it。 It was a well-plotted book and it was a great read。 I would have given the book five stars if not for the fact that when I was reading, it left a sour taste in my mouth。 I don't know why, but it just seemed that way while I was reading it。 。。。more

knives out with teenagers and no daniel craig。 and also not as good。 i mean i guess it is good, i just didn’t like it very much。 a mystery like this is supposed to keep you on the edge of your seat whereas this hardly had me caring at all。 i thought the characters were underdeveloped (i can’t tell you a single personality trait of the main character and the two main hawthorne brothers were utterly indistinguishable to me) which is why i couldn’t connect to any of them。 the story also ends on a c knives out with teenagers and no daniel craig。 and also not as good。 i mean i guess it is good, i just didn’t like it very much。 a mystery like this is supposed to keep you on the edge of your seat whereas this hardly had me caring at all。 i thought the characters were underdeveloped (i can’t tell you a single personality trait of the main character and the two main hawthorne brothers were utterly indistinguishable to me) which is why i couldn’t connect to any of them。 the story also ends on a cliffhanger (and a twist, which i somehow called in the very beginning, humble brag) which pissed me off because it means i wasted my time on a book with zero resolution。 i won’t be reading the sequel though (which coincidentally came out on the day i finished this lol)。 🤷🏼♀️ 。。。more
Maria Maiga,
I loved the book, it was captivating, delicious。 I wanted to know the rest, it intrigued me, I played the games, looked for and wanted to have answers, it was just wonderful & beautiful!
Hala,
this book is grossly overhyped in my opinion。 being a mystery, i expected it to be addicting and keep me on the edge of my seat。 unfortunately, that wasn’t true。 the majority of the book felt unimportant, like we were reading chapters to pass the time。 the events of the book were not drastic or exciting; they just happened。 the entire part related to unraveling the truth and following the clues and games was, in my opinion, pretty silly。 most of the steps of the game just had me like “okay, sure this book is grossly overhyped in my opinion。 being a mystery, i expected it to be addicting and keep me on the edge of my seat。 unfortunately, that wasn’t true。 the majority of the book felt unimportant, like we were reading chapters to pass the time。 the events of the book were not drastic or exciting; they just happened。 the entire part related to unraveling the truth and following the clues and games was, in my opinion, pretty silly。 most of the steps of the game just had me like “okay, sure”。 what we discovered at every step of the game should have been shocking, exciting, and made us want to read more。 however, everything we discovered was just meaningless。 it didn’t really refer back to anything we knew from before; it always had to explain something new。 other than the mystery aspect sucking, the characters fell ridiculously flat as well。 they were so one-dimensional that i honestly cannot recount anything about them。 don’t even get me started on the nonexistent “love triangle” and “romance”。 i’m upset that this book just did not work for me。 the premise had me really excited, as did all the hype。 usually whenever a book has an average rating of >4 starts on goodreads, i end up really liking it。 however, in this case, i’m sad to say i really didn’t。 i might pick up the second book just to try it out and see whether the premise of that one works better, but there’s no telling for sure。 。。。more

*4。5 rounded downThis book had a fast paced, unpredictable plot that I really enjoyed reading。 I found it so hard to put down because the author did a very good job of making you want to know more at the end of each chapter! The ending was a good build up to the next book too。 Can’t wait to read the sequel!

Really liked the puzzle-solving。 Wish there were more of it。 The romance part of the story was barely there which I liked。 All in all - Enjoyable although felt it didn’t really end properly which means I need to read the sequel。 👍🏼
